Naugatuck Sensory Friendly Public Safety Day

Meet & interact with first responders, explore community resources and emergency service vehicles in a non-judgmental, safe and sensory friendly environment. Activities and resources available in between the mock traffic stops and equipment exploration. 

Overview of cognitive and intellectual disabilities with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder. Provides insight from parent, clinical, and first responder perspectives to support understanding of behaviors, communication, and interaction needs during emergency situations. 

In collaboration with Spectrum of Light, interact with first responders exploring community resources & emergency service vehicles in a safe, sensory-friendly, & non-judgmental environment. Participants will have the opportunity to  explore emergency equipment, with activities and resources available.
